What is Salary On Hold?

Some employers do hold back employees’ salaries because of their poor performance. Sometimes as per contract or an employee has given his written consent then salary holding is okay, however, this is often against the law as employees are entitled to their salary for their work and the time put in. As long as an employee reports to work, he’s entitled to receive his salary.

In Which Cases Salary On Hold Applied?

  • An employer can hold the salary of an employee who doesn’t serve his notice period as per the employment agreement.
  • An employer can hold the salary of new employees whose verification is still incomplete.
  • As a punishment employer can hold the salary of an employee or decreased work performance is also counted in that.
