A roadmap is a strategic plan that defines a goal or intended outcome, as well as the major tasks or milestones required to reach it.
It also serves as a communication tool, a high-level document that aids in the expression of strategic thinking—the why—behind both the objective and the strategy for achieving it. At a high level, this broad definition encompasses all of a company’s roadmaps, including marketing, IT, sales, finance, project-based teams, and anybody who’s job has any bearing on the company’s business goals.
