Product Manager

What is a Product Manager?

A  Product Manager is the one who determines a product or product line’s strategy, roadmap, and feature definition. Product marketing, profit and loss (P&L), and forecasting tasks may also be part of a product manager’s job description. Product managers examine market and competitive situations before sketching up a differentiated product vision that delivers unique value based on client needs.

PMs are responsible for optimizing a product to meet business objectives and user requirements while maximizing the return on investment. Think of the product manager as the connective tissue between the three key groups: developers (engineers and designers), business (sales, marketing, legal, etc. ), and users and customers.
