ISO 9000 Certification

What is ISO 9000 Certification?

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a non-governmental, independent organization made up of members of the national standard bodies from more than 160 countries that are responsible for setting up international standards related to products and services.

ISO 9000 is a set of standards created and published by ISO. It defines, establishes, and maintains an effective quality assurance system for service and manufacturing industries. ISO 9000 is the most known standard and has perhaps the most impact of the 13000 standards published by ISO.

The ISO9000 family of quality management standards was created for businesses to assist them in properly documenting the components of their quality systems and maintaining an effective quality system. They can be used by organizations of any size and are not exclusive to any one sector of the economy. The ISO 9000 standard defines a common vocabulary, best practices, and recommendations for quality management systems.

Following are the standards in ISO 9000 family:

  • ISO 9001 – 2015 – Quality Management Systems – Requisites
  • ISO 9000 – 2015 – Quality Management Systems – Fundamentals and definitions (vocabulary)
  • ISO 9004 – 2009 – Quality Management Systems – Sustained Success of an Organization Management
  • ISO 19011 – 2011 – Auditing Management Systems Instructions
