What is Form 15g for PF?

Form 15G is a declaration form that can be filled by the FD holders (citizens less than 60 years of age and HUFs) to ensure that no tax is deducted from their interest income in a year. You can get all the rules and regulations of this form under section 197A, provision of IT act, 1961.

Who is eligible for form 15G?

  • Only individual resident taxpayers or HUF (Hindu Unified Family) are allowed to submit Form 15G
  • Individuals less than 60 years 
  • Tax calculated on the total income is NIL
  • The total amount of interest income for the year is below the applicable year’s basic exemption cap.
