What is Form 26AS?

Form 26AS is a consolidated annual tax form that shows the details of deducted and deposited tax at the source. Form 26AS contains detailed information on tax with the advance tax paid by the assessee along with self-assessment tax. This form shows details of the purchase/sale of mutual funds, immovable property, cash deposits or withdrawals from saving accounts, etc. This information is specific to PAN.   

Before you file your income tax return, you need to make sure that data related to tax is deducted at the source. This information should be correct and accurate as per Income Tax Department.

Below Are The Required Contents Of Form26AS:

  • It contains information on TDS ( Tax deducted at source).
  • It contains information on TCS ( Tax collected at source).
  • It contains information regarding advance tax or self-assessment tax paid.
  • It contains information regarding an income tax refund.
  • It contains details of AIR( Annual Information Return) transactions.
  • It contains information on tax deducted on the sale of immovable property.
