Restricted Holiday

What is a Restricted Holiday?

Optional holidays are usually recalled as restricted holidays. It depends on the employee whether to avail of restricted holidays or not. As if there is a Hindu Festival and if the company declares a restricted holiday then, other religions can make it a working day if they want. It depends on them whether to require the leave or not. The company declares the same number as the maximum limit of restricted holidays in a financial year.

Employees are confined to avail a limited number of holidays as per their corporate leave calendar which is the ready basis of the same. As per the restricted holidays’ employees can avail themselves of only two holidays during a year based on their convenience and discretion which implies that it is a working day in offices on such occasions. These paid time offs are included within the record of holidays to promote cultural activities.

Examples of common Restricted Holidays include Raksha Bandhan, New Year, Onam, Makar Sankranti, and Guru Gobind Singh’s Birthday among others.
