What is a Green Collar Employee?

Green collar employees are individuals that used to be those associated with rural, farming, forestry, or agricultural careers. However, the term green-collar jobs have been expanded to include a whole range of positions. These used to be either white or blue-collar roles.

The modern green-collar job doesn’t necessarily refer to the role itself, but the industry sector being serviced by the job profile. Green-collar jobs and the industry sector serving them are associated with sustainability, the environment, and clean-tech.
