Business Process Modeling (BPM)

What is a business process modelling?

The term “business process modeling” refers to the process of developing a graphical representation of an organization’s numerous workflows that captures operations and interactions between divisions. A detailed image of present processes aids in the identification of backlogs and bottlenecks, allowing for the development of a better and more efficient process.

There are several tools for creating a graphical representation of your workflows. An organization may not require the use of numerous tools but instead can select the most appropriate one that results in the most effective process transformation.

The graphical representation of a company’s business processes or workflows as a way of discovering potential changes is known as business process modeling. Flowcharts, data-flow diagrams, and other graphing approaches are commonly used to do this.

BP modeling is used to map two different stages of the process: As-is, which is the current state of the process without any adjustments or improvements, and To-be, which is the future state after the changes or improvements have been made.

Business process modeling and business process mapping are often used interchangeably, and they might be nearly identical depending on who you ask.
