First of all, whenever you are eligible for EPF you need to fill out the nomination letter form. Now, what is the importance of filling out form 2?
Imagine the scenario, if you and an occupier didn’t decide who can be your nominee after any accident in the future then it will be a problem for you. Perhaps people in your family will face a dispute or the EPF amount will go to another person that you don’t want to share.
A social security scheme that employees need to contribute a specific quantum of their payment is called EPF Form. And EPF form 2 is used to nominate the appointees under this scheme, the EPF members need to fill out a form.
EPF Form 2 is used to nominate a person for the fund in the EPF account of the member. Through this form, it’s decided who’ll get these finances in the situation of a member’s death.

A member who has formerly registered his UAN at the unified EPF Member Portal can fill this EPF form 2 online. The process can be like this:
Step 1: Login to the EPF portal using UAN.
Step 2: Select the “Manage” section and then “E-nomination”.
Step 3: Enter “Current Address” & “Permanent Address ” in your “Profile” and then click on the “Save” button.
Step 4: Select the option you have a family or not.
Step 5: Enter details of the family member like name, Aadhaar number, dob, relation, gender, address, and guardian ( for minors) and click on save details. If you want more nominees then select add row button.
Step 6: Select the nominees from the list and enter the share. Click on save EPF nomination.
Step 7: Your nomination details will be saved and nominees will get the fund in the proportion mentioned by you in the form. Follow the same way for the EPS section for serving benefits of the pension scheme.
Step 8: To complete the process you need to consider ‘e-sign ’ the nomination made by you. For this, select the “e-nomination ” option listed under the “ Manage ” section.
Step 9: Next, enter the virtual ID of your Aadhaar and click on “corroborate ”.
Step 10: Given your concurrence for Aadhaar’-KYC services.
Step 11: Enter your Aadhaar ID again and click on ” Get OTP ” to get an OTP on your mobile number linked with your Aadhaar card.
Step 12: Enter the OTP and do successfully register your nomination.
