A document called ISO 9004 can be used in conjunction with the ISO 9001 standard to build a quality management system. This article is intended to serve as a roadmap for any organization looking to boost the quality and effectiveness of its quality management system. In contrast to ISO 9001, ISO 9004 is not meant for use in certification, regulation, or contracts. It should not be confused with ISO 9014, which is a common misspelling and does not exist, as it was most recently modified in 2009 to align with the 2008 edition of ISO 9001. It adheres to similar provisions as the ISO 9001 requirements standard. The aim is to provide instructions on how to implement and improve procedures developed in accordance with ISO 9001.
