Interview

What is an Interview?

The interview is defined as a formal, in-depth conversation between two or more persons, wherein the exchange of information takes place, with a view of checking a candidate’s acceptability for the job.

Some of the main objectives to conduct an interview are:

  • To evaluate the applicant’s suitability for the job profile.
  • To gain additional information from the candidate.
  • To provide general information about the company.
  • To create a good image of the company, among all the applicants.

Interviews are actually a tool used for the selection of candidates. You can see it as two-way communication between interviewer and interviewee. Here the former seeks information, by way of questions and the latter provides the same, through verbal responses. However, the information shared and received flows in both directions.
