Emotional Intelligence

What is Emotional intelligence?

Emotional Intelligence, also often known as Emotional Quotient (EQ), is an individual’s ability to manage, evaluate, and perceive emotions. The EQ tells how a person uses his/her emotions to react to various situations and make decisions.

People with a high degree of emotional intelligence know what they are feeling, what their emotions mean, and how these emotions can affect the people around them. Various tests have emerged to measure the level of emotional intelligence. Such tests are categorized into two types:

Self-report Test: This is the most common test as it is easier to administer and score. In this test, respondents respond to the questions or statements by rating their own behavior.

Ability Test: This test includes having people to respond to various situations and then assessing their skills.
