Agile

What is an Agile Approach?

Agile is defined as an approach to project management. It circles its steps around incremental and iterative approaches to completing projects. The incremental parts of agile project management are carried out in short-term cycles.

The agile approach prioritizes quick delivery of the project whilst adapting to change, and collaboration. It doesn’t necessarily consider top-down management and following a set plan. In Agile processes, there is constant feedback and communication regarding the workflow, allowing for team members to adjust to challenges as they arise. It gives the stakeholders an opportunity to stay updated consistently.

Though originally created for software development, the Agile approach is now widely used in executing many projects and even in running organizations. Traditional project management generally progresses linearly. Moving from planning, designing, implementation and closing stages happen after the previous stages are complete.
